Clicker is an application used to find, view, and bookmark television programming online. The site catalogs available broadcast programming on the Internet, including television-quality web original programs. Finding TV episodes, web programming, movies, and music programs online can be challenging and time consuming. With Clicker, the web searching is already done. Users simply browse or look for the program they desire and Clicker provides the content or a link to it. It’s like having a TV Guide for the Internet.

Clicker was founded by CEO Jim Lanzone in 2008. His concept was to create a streamlined programming guide for Internet television. TV episodes, movies, and high-quality web content are all provided in an easily searchable application. The website was acquired by CBS in March 2011.

This application is completely user friendly and easy to use. Web videos do not include user-generated Youtube content, instead indexing only professionally produced web content. Clicker saves time by cataloging the content so that users can find all available content through one website.

Programs may be found by browsing categories, TV, web originals, movies, music, and trends. Navigation is simple and the interface is intuitive. Once a television show or movie is chosen, users can filter results by availability, free or paid content, and season. Once the episode is selected, frequently a new window will open to the site that hosts the show. Occasionally content may be viewed within the Clicker application. Programming notes indicate previews and services that require payment.

The music section contains music videos, behind the scenes footage, documentaries, specials, news and information, and more. These also may open within the Clicker window.

Any video or program may be added to a user’s playlist so that it is easy to find later. Some programs offer the option of emailing a user when new episodes are uploaded.

To register, a username with a minimum of 6 letters, first and last name, email address, and password must be provided.

Clicker is completely free to use. Future plans include a fee-based pro version.
